Akson Studio has been in operation since 1992 and produced all kinds of cinema feature films, TV feature films, TV feature series, documentaries, television programmes, entertainment shows, educational programs, and theatre plays for Television Theatre. Today Akson Studio is among the five leading production companies in Poland. Its current position in the market is mainly due to its production energy and professional management. Akson Studio has focused its work on creating exceptional productions of great artistic value as well as other television and film genres. Our scorecard contains prime-time hits of the smaller screen. Most of them were nominated for television awards in various categories: comedy series, action series, drama series. All of them reached top ranks of viewership. Our source of pride is co-operation with Andrzej Wajda. One of his and our movies - Katyń (2007) (seen by 2,7 million cinemagoers) was nominated for an Oscar by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the category of Best Foreign Language film. The Katyń film crew includes such great names as Paweł Edelman, Magdalena Dipont, Magdalena Biedrzycka and Waldemar Pokromski. The new film by Andrzej Wajda Sweet Rush was chosen for the Competition at the 59th International Film Festival in Berlin.
MICHAŁ KWIECIŃSKI
Producer and director, founder and owner of Akson Studio. A graduate of the
Directing & Drama Department at the Polish National Theatre School in Warsaw.
One of the most recognized and experienced producers and directors in
Poland. Animator and promoter of Polish Cinematography. Recognized and
honoured with many prestigious state and film awards. Apart from working as a
producer, Michał Kwieciński is also a successful film director. He directed two
feature films: Extras, a highly acclaimed comedy and Let’s go to the movies
tomorrow, a film about the lost hopes of young people shattered by the war.
Both movies brought him a series of awards. Let’s go to the movies tomorrow
was awarded at the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia (Special Jury Award, Special
Acting Award, Costume Design Award, Best Art Direction) as well as at
international festivals (Prix Europa for Best TV Film, Shanghai Television Festival:
Gold Magnolia, La Rochelle TV Production Festival: Best European Feature, TV
Festival in Bar: Directing Award). Extras received seven awards at the Polish Film
Festival as well as winning prizes at the New York Polish Film Festival.
KATARZYNA FUKACZ-CEBULA
The Managing Director and Executive Producer of Akson Studio since 1992. In
the early days of the company Katarzyna Fukacz-Cebula created and
implemented a corporate strategy and operational structure of production
management and built a successful and efficient production crew and
corporate team. Currently she manages the company in co-operation with the
owner. Her other responsibilities include a wide spectrum of activities: Finance
and operations, supervision, formulation of internal corporate culture, project
development supervision, strategic planning, royalties management and coproduction
contracts management.
